Marketing Manager Job Application

 

Position Summary:

In this role, the Marketing Manager will assist in the development and execution of strategic marketing campaigns for Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) in collaboration with a small team and professional consultants. The successful candidate will lead marketing and communications initiatives to various audiences and work closely with the EHRC team.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Marketing Manager is responsible for implementing and monitoring marketing and communications activities in consultation with the EHRC team.

  • Manage all marketing and communications associated with EHRC members, sponsors and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all products and services developed by EHRC share consistent branding in alignment with strategic organizational direction.
  • Lead overarching corporate marketing plan implementation and pivots and to include the EHRC online presence (website and social), media relations, etc.
  • Manage 1-2 team members who would report directly.
  • Develop and implement holistic website and social media marketing strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of online products and services.
  • Support the coordination of events and webinars.
  • Monitors the success of plans and tactics and collects, analyzes and summarizes data associated with key performance indicators
  • Supports Stakeholder Engagement Manager by providing market trends, forecasts, account analyses and new product information and promotional materials.
  • Supports Client Relationship Management system.
  • Contribute to writing and editing of news releases, articles, advertorials, white papers, press advisories, backgrounders, speaking notes, and letters.
  • Develop new ideas and creative approaches to communication messaging, within a clear brand framework in order to influence and secure the support of key EHRC stakeholders (e.g. employers, educators, Labour, media, suppliers, policy makers) as outlined by the organizational strategy and key objectives.
  • Support and contribute to development and continuous improvement of the organization’s communications channels including print and electronic communications.
  • Determine ROI for attending tradeshows and speaking engagements.
  • Liaises with EHRC senior management team and approved consultants to deliver against marketing objectives/tactics.
  • Contribute to business development plan to grow existing and new product and service lines.
  • Other duties as required by the senior management team.

Education, Experience and Skills:

REQUIRED (If you are missing any of these – don’t bother):

  • Degree or Diploma in a relevant field (e.g. marketing, communications, public relations, journalism).
  • Five years of public relations and marketing management experience in a non-profit or B2B environment is a minimum requirement, with content management, website development oversight and/or web marketing experience.
  • Two years project management, budget management experience.
  • Two years social media and web analytics management experience.
  • Experience executing strategic marketing plans.
  • Excellent English communication skills (writing, editing, speaking).
  • A well-honed sense of urgency.
  • A professional work ethic, drive to work with passion and enthusiasm.
  • A track-record of performance and fitting into high-performing teams.
  • An excellent sense of humour.
  • Ability to travel across Canada as required from time to time.

ASSETS (We’ll only consider these if you have all of the required skillsets above):

  • Experience/familiarity with the electricity industry.
  • Experience/familiarity with human resources challenges/opportunities.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • User Experience design understanding for web properties.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is considered an asset.

  • This is an 2 year contract with the possibility of an extension based on growth in products/services over the first term.
